The Wyoming Department of Transportation says some highway projects in the area could lead to traffic delays during the upcoming Cheyenne Frontier Days.

The agency says that while work on the Interstate 25 bridge over Lincolnway will be suspended during CFD, speed limits will be raised and a detour will be posted.

A WYDOT news release  goes on to say

"Traffic control will shift to close two exits from I-80 to I-25 north and redirect traffic through a short detour via Lincolnway.

Heavy event traffic is likely throughout CFD week, especially near Missile Dr. interchange for the Park-n-Ride and Randall interchange for the CFD Park itself. The I-80/I-25 detour should not impact these exits."

The Terry Ranch Road project will remain closed throughout Cheyenne Frontier Days, but WYDOT says that shouldn't have too much impact in terms of traffic delays.

The release also reminds motorists that the Wyoming Highway Patrol will be closely watching for impaired drivers during CFD.
