LCSD #2 Moves Start of School Year Because of Eclipse
Due to the mass interest in the solar eclipse, Laramie County School District #2 is changing the first day of school from Monday, Aug. 21 to Tuesday, Aug. 22.
"When the school calendar was created last spring, I grossly underestimated the interest in experiencing the total solar eclipse," said Superintendent Jon Abrams.
Abrams says Aug. 21 will be made up on Friday, Aug. 25, which will be a regular school day.
The first day of classes for Laramie County School District 1 students is Aug. 29.
