A man was displaced after his house caught fire on Agate Road early Wednesday morning.

Laramie County Fire District #2 Operations Chief Manny Muzquiz says the fire was reported at 4:15 a.m. and the house was fully engulfed when crews arrived.

The homeowner told firefighters that he was sleeping upstairs with his door closed when he woke up to use the bathroom and found his entire home full of dark smoke.

Luckily, the man was able to escape without injury by climbing out of his bedroom window.

The American Red Cross is assisting the man with lodging and other immediate needs.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
