An 18-year-old Laramie man could face up to 10 years in prison after allegedly trying to steal more than $2,000 in electronics from the southeast Cheyenne Walmart.

Court records say police were called to the store on March 23 after Noah Richardson and another individual were observed wrapping electronics in aluminum foil and concealing the items in a bean bag and pillows.

Richardson admitted to the accusations, according to an affidavit.

Police learned from the two that the aluminum foil would have blocked the store sensors from activating when they got to the front door, allowing them to leave undetected and without paying.

Richardson was arrested and charged with felony shoplifting. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 4 in Laramie County Circuit Court.
