Wyomingites are very proud of our state for a multitude of reasons. We don't have a large population, despite being one of the largest states in total area (we're the 10th largest). But that also means we don't suffer from the major issues that states with bigger populations deal with, mainly crime.

CBS News ranked the 50 Deadliest Cities in the country and Wyoming (happily) was completely absent from the list. Our neighbors in Colorado were not so lucky. Both Aurora and Denver landed on the list for highest murder rates, landing at 40th and 37th respectively.

Aurora tied with Orlando, Florida, averaging 8.3 murders per 100,000 people. Denver tied with Boston, Massachusetts, averaging 8.5 murders per 100,000 people. It's also worth noting our neighbors in Utah and Nebraska also made the list.

While I personally grumble and complain often about the lack of some of the larger cities amenities (like Chik-fil-a or Popeyes), I'll protest in silence since the fear of being shot or robbed at gunpoint are much lower in the good ole Cowboy State.
