When you think America, chances are, you’re thinking baseball, apple pie, and the good ole red white and blue.  But what city is best described as “American?

According to this study from WalletHub, aside from it being known as “music city,” Nashville is ranked as the most “American” of U.S. metro areas, with demographics resembling the United States the closet.  The way WalletHub determined which city “mirrors” the U.S. more than others, is by analyzing the demographical figures for 366 of the largest metro areas in the country, which are categorized by age, gender, income and housing.

According to USA Today, Cincinnati and Indianapolis came in second and third place, followed by Charleston, South Carolina, and Jacksonville, Florida.  When it comes to cities least resembling the country include Yuma, Arizona, Brownsville, Texas and Boulder, Colorado, although, this study revealed Denver, Colorado most resembles the country when it comes to race, Tulsa, Oklahoma most resembled the country in terms of age, and Detroit, Michigan resembles the country when  it comes to income.

Sadly, when I looked to see where cities in Wyoming rank in this study, NONE were revealed.  Seeing as this study is based on “metro” cities, apparently the cities in our Cowboy State aren’t “metro” enough.  However, when I think of “American cities, or areas,” I think of areas that are “wholesome” and community minded, and I can’t think of a city that mirrors that image more than Cheyenne.

If they also based this study on beauty, I would think Jackson Hole would best resemble an area that’s “most American,” and every place in between across our fine state is American when it comes to lots of wide open spaces, because, in my opinion, those wide open spaces signify freedom!

If you were to categorize what cities or areas in our state that best resembles America, what city or town  in Wyoming would you add to the list?
