New CHiPs Movie Reprises Legendary Character Played By Wyoming’s Larry Wilcox [TRAILER]
Last night, actor Dax Shepard unveiled the trailer for the movie "CHiPs". In the film, Shepard will reprise a role made famous by Wyoming's native son, Larry Wilcox.
Wilcox was raised by a single mother in Rawlins. After graduating from Rawlins High School, he briefly worked as a rodeo clown before joining the United States Marines.
Wilcox served 13 months in Vietnam, eventually rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his honorable discharge, Wilcox moved to Los Angeles and set out to become an actor.
His big break came in 1977, when Wilcox landed the role of Officer Jon Baker on the hit NBC series CHiPs.
After a successful five-year run, Wilcox left the show and founded his own production company. In addition to his acting career, Wilcox is also an airplane pilot and an accomplished race car driver who once held the Bonneville Salt Flats Speed Record.
Which begs the question. Will Dax Shepard do justice to Wilcox's character in the new CHiPs remake?
