US News & World Report released their annual list of the best high schools in the country yesterday. Cheyenne Central was the highest ranked school in Laramie County, sixth in the state.

Central High scored 84.85 out of 100 based on a 92 percent graduation rate and high test scores. East High finished 13th in the state, with a composite score of 65.32 and an 87 percent graduation rate. South High was 34th in Wyoming, with a composite score of 30.53 and a 74 percent graduation rate.

Burns Jr. and Sr. High ranked 24th in the state, with a composite score of 44.57 and a 94 percent graduation rate. Pine Bluffs High School ranked 41st, due in part to incomplete statistics in the report.

Jackson Hole High School claimed the top spot in Wyoming, with a composite score of 96.16, ranking 663rd out of over 17,000 schools in the study. Sheridan High, Laramie High, Pinedale High, and Riverside High in Basin rounded out the five best schools in the Cowboy State.
