Nobody was injured after a fire broke out at a Cheyenne bar this (Saturday) afternoon.

Cheyenne Fire Rescue spokesman Scott Smith says firefighters were called to the Peppermill Bar at 1618 Stillwater Avenue at 4:08 p.m.

When crews arrived on scene they noticed smoke and flames coming from the soffit on the west side of the building.

Smith says firefighters had to deal with lightning and heavy rain at times, but were able to get the fire under control at 5:40 p.m.

Fortunately, everyone in the building was able to get out safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
