A potential hazardous material spill near Granger on Friday evening was averted when  a semi rig pulling two tractor trailers filled with flammable petroleum  overturned, according to Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Dick Blust. He says deputies along with members of the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Green River Fire Department responded to a crossover road running from county road 11 to U-S Highway 30 on a report of an overturned semi. Blust says the driver of the rig, 36 year old Christopher Harter, was headed southwest when he apparently missed a turn and went off the roadway and overturned. Harter was treated for minor injuries and released from Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

Blust says the rig’s carrier, Flying J Transportation, found that the trailers had not been breached and removed the condensate. Harter was not cited, and Blust says the incident remains under investigation.
