Pinedale, Wyoming Wins ‘Ranger Country USA’ Contest
Pinedale, Wyoming has a new claim to fame. The Sublette County town was recently crowned the winner of a national contest held by the Polaris ATV company.
Pinedale defeated four other finalists in the Ranger Country USA contest, besting Corning, Arkansas; Darlington, Wisconsin; Spring Creek, Nevada; and Stephenville, Texas.
To celebrate, Polaris will throw a victory party in Pinedale later this year. The company also plans to donate several Ranger all-terrain vehicles to local organizations.
Home to just over 2,000 year-round residents, Pinedale's population swells with tourists in the summer, who flock to visit the Museum of the Mountain Man, the annual Green River Rendezvous and Fremont Lake. Known as a gateway to Jackson Hole and the Wind River Range, the town's official motto is "All The Civilization You Need".
