Plane Makes Emergency Landing Near Cheyenne Central Thursday
No injuries were reported from the emergency landing of a small airplane in the 5700 block of Education Drive around noon Thursday, according to a spokesman for the Cheyenne Police Department.
The plane landed near Central High School and McCormick Junior High.
KGWN television in Cheyenne is reporting the plane was piloted by 16-year- old Isaiah Cooper of Compton, California. The station says Cooper was attempting to become the youngest African-American to pilot an airplane across the continental United States.
