Quick Start Tennis Courts Ready for Play at Martin Luther King Jr. Park

Do you like to play tennis?

New tennis courts opened in west Cheyenne on Monday, July 7, with a grand opening celebration which included refreshments and a presentation by local tennis pro Ken Yamada.

The recently completed Martin Luther King Jr. Park Quick Start Tennis Courts are now open. At Monday's ceremonies, Yamada gave a short presentation and introduction to Quick Start Tennis, for players 10 and younger.

The tennis courts were made possible by many parties coming together to see them through to their completion. The Cheyenne Tennis Association, Laramie County Rec Board, Frontier Park Tennis Center, Wyoming Tennis Association, United States Tennis Association, 5th Penny Sales Tax, Land & Water Conservation Fund and the Cheyenne City Council all provided funding and support toward the project.
