Thanks to the power of YouTube, Wyoming football fans can now re-watch, or maybe catch for the first time the 1968 Sugar Bowl.

The 1967 regular season was perfect for the Pokes, going 10-0 under head coach Lloyd Eaton. Five Cowboys from that team went on to play in the NFL, most notable running back Jim Kiick who was later part of another undefeated team, the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

Kicker Jeffy DePoyster was a second round draft pick, guard Mike LaHood was a second round pick as well. Tackle Mike Dirks was selected in the fifth round of the NFL Draft, and defensive back Paul Toscano was taken in the seventh round.

Despite only having one player on defense go to the NFL, Wyoming boasted the nation's best defense against the run that year.

The Sugar Bowl was not the conclusion to the great season the Cowboys were hoping for, however. After a hard fought contest with LSU, the Pokes fell 20-13.

Many Wyoming fans who attended the game still like to boast that there were nearly as many UW fans in New Orleans for the game as LSU fans, who play in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
