Wyoming Department of Transportation crews continue to clear area roads following heavy snowfall Wednesday and Thursday morning.

"Crews have reported drifts as large as 10 feet deep along sections of I-80 in the Laramie and Arlington areas and will be using rotary plows and other equipment to move those drifts," said WYDOT spokesman Matt Murphy.

High winds are expected to continue for much of the day, which will hamper visibility due to blowing snow.

Murphy says once crews can get road surfaces clear and visibility improves, highways will begin to reopen across southeast Wyoming.

He says WYDOT is also coordinating with partner agencies in Nebraska and Colorado on road openings where applicable.

The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 511 or by visiting wyoroad.info.
