While southeast Wyoming remains under a winter weather advisory until noon today, forecasters with the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service expect the spring storm which has hit the area to taper off today, leading to much nicer weather the next few days.

The agency posted this statement on its website early Wednesday morning:

''Winter Storm Warnings have been cancelled with a Winter Weather Advisory now in effect for all of the area until Noon today. A band of mainly light snow will progress east across the plains this morning with just some isolated rain and snow showers across the area this afternoon. Additional snowfall this morning looks to be generally an inch or less. Roads may still be slick and hazardous in some areas this morning, especially over higher terrain so be aware of this if traveling and allot extra time."
