There's nothing that depicts the old west like a good, old fashioned gun fight. The Cheyenne Gunslingers have officially kicked off their gun fight this month.
It's Cheyenne Frontier Days again, and that means pancakes, parades and cowboys. Much of the rodeos and concerts cost money, but there's plenty to do for FREE.
The sun was hot and the air a bit dusty in the Cheyenne Frontier Days arena in Frontier Park. Cowboys from across the country were competing in the 6 hour slack in their effort to rope calves.
Some of the pre-rodeo events at Frontier Park, include what is called the Slack Rodeo. This includes tie down roping, barrel racing, team roping and more.

This Sunday, July 12, it's the unofficial start to Cheyenne Frontier Days as more than 500 Corriente steers are driven along Interstate 25 and into Frontier Park for rodeo events.
