Bridger - Teton National Forest

Wildland firefighting crews throughout the Cowboy State were busy over the weekend as fires began popping up around Wyoming.

In 2010, a 67-foot Engelmann Spruce harvested from Wyoming's Bridger-Teton National Forest was chosen to be the US Capitol Chrismas tree.

Located in the Bridger-Teton National Forest near Pinedale, Half Moon Lake Lodge features six guest cabins, an on-site restaurant, retail shop, saloon, marina, and a floating dock with 15 boats.

A Type II incident management team assumed command of the fire at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Three other fires were burning on the Bridger-Teton National Forest as of Monday.

Two men that were in the area of the fire had to retreat to a creek as the fire rapidly moved toward them.

Here's a fun fact: the great state of Wyoming has two trails called Jackass Pass and they're both magnificent.

The rustic 2-bedroom cabin lies on the shore of the lower Green River Lake. In the early 1900s, it was part of the Gannet Peak Bar Dude Ranch.

If the case had gone to trial and Stephanie Dodson was convicted on all counts, she could have faced up to 40 years of imprisonment.

As of about 7:30 a.m. Monday, 120 firefighting personnel were assigned to the blaze. Containment is listed at 5 percent.
