So why are there so many dino bones in Wyoming?

If a new study is accurate, Wyoming got clobbered by a big rock from space approximately 280 million years ago in a collision that predated dinosaurs.

What do the three have in common? They all share the same unique rock formation. It is so rare that you can only find it at these three locations.

The Wyoming State Geological Survey, based at the University of Wyoming campus, began publishing oil and gas maps since 1943.
