Central High School was placed on lockdown Monday afternoon after "vandalism containing obscene words" was reported to a school administrator.

Cheyenne police are working to educate parents about the difference between a lockdown and a secure perimeter.

Police were called to the school around 11:20 a.m. and later determined that a 17-year-old student had shot a window on an unoccupied vehicle.

A domestic disturbance near Miller Elementary School prompted officials to lockdown the school this (Monday) morning.

A possible disturbance at a home near Buffalo Ridge Elementary School prompted officials to briefly lockdown the school this (Tuesday) morning.

The school lockdown was imposed to deal with a disruptive student in a hallway, according to a district spokeswoman.
