Five people were taken to the hospital Monday night following a multi-vehicle pileup on Interstate 80, Unita County Fire and Ambulance says.

A chain reaction crash on Interstate 80 west of Evanston Sunday afternoon left a grandfather and his grandson dead and four others injured.

Multiple people were injured in a pileup involving over 20 vehicles on Interstate 80 west of Buford Friday morning, the Wyoming Highway Patrol said.

A white 2020 Freightliner then collided with the Toyota, pinning it between the 2020 Freightliner and the trailer of the white Volvo.

Memorial Hospital of Carbon County spokeswoman Stephanie Hinkle said the hospital in Rawlins treated roughly 30 patients in the ER.

A commercial truck hit the trooper's vehicle, but the trooper wasn't inside at the time and was not hurt.

The crash occurred at roughly 7:40 a.m. near milepost 331.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
