Two Cheyenne men were recently sentenced in Laramie County District Court to 35 to 40 years and 8 to 12 years in prison, respectively, for separate sex crimes.

A Laramie County jury on Thursday returned a split verdict in the case against a former Wyoming Highway Patrol sergeant charged with sexually assaulting two women.

A CPD spokeswoman wrote ''These statements were found to be false – it was confirmed that the named offender has been incarcerated since July 2022."

A January 10 trial date was set for Gabriel Testerman by Laramie County District Court Judge Thomas Campbell.

On Thursday, The Wyoming Department of Corrections announced that when convicted murderer Dale Eaton failed to appear for his sentencing hearing in the Seventh District Court, it wasn't their fault.

According to the release, Stagner continued to make false allegations as the case was investigated as part of an effort to extort money from the man.

Further, the complaint states, administrators allegedly suggested to the girl's mother that the girl was the problem, not the alleged assailant or his friends.

Though Burns has been arrested, the investigation is ongoing.

Cook is facing sexual assault and burglary charges, both of which are class three felonies.
