Three athletes from Cheyenne East will be taking their skills to the college level as they signed Letters of Intent this week. Volleyball player Elysiana Fonseca is a three-time all-state selection in 4A and will be staying close to home as she will attend LCCC in Cheyenne. Fonseca had 417 blocks in her career and whopping 650 kills. East finished the season 23-13 and qualified for the 4A State Tournament, going 1-2. LCCC completed their season with a record of 18-12.

Softball player Jaylen Christensen will be headed to Bellevue, Washington College which is a Division II school that competes in the Northwest Athletic Conference. That team went 34-6 this past season and Christensen will join the club as a pitcher. She went 5-6 with 80 strikeouts in 2022 but really excelled with the Cheyenne Extreme club team with a record in the circle of 12-6 with 194 strikeouts. East finished the softball season at 12-11

Swimmer Shannon Bailey will be joining the Southwest Minnesota State program and she competed in the 50 and 100 freestyle events at the 4A State Meet as well as the 50-meter and 100-meter breaststroke. At the State Championships, she placed 3rd in the 100 breaststroke with a clocking of 1.10.07 and took 7th in the 100 free in 56.76. Southwest Minnesota State competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference at the Division II level.
