This is not what you think, and it is very unusual.

You might think of Wyoming's intermittent spring as that time of year when it is the dead of winter one moment, then summer, then spring, then back to winter.

These springs are also call "Rhythmic Springs."

Wyoming's Rhythmic Spring is the largest in the world.

That is not what this video from the University Of Wyoming is all about. This is a spring that flows water, but not all the time.

Much like Old Faithful spouts hot water every 90 minuets or so, this spring pours a river for a short while, stops, then starts again.
