It may not be the "Big Dance," but our Wyoming Cowboy men's basketball team will play for a post-season championship.

After defeating Eastern Washington, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and Utah Valley University, the Pokes march on to the championship games against Coastal Carolina University.

Here's a few things you should know before the series starts...

    The Trophy

The CBI trophy at stake is actually very cool. Some argue it looks even better than the NCAA Tournament trophy. Whomever wins this match-up will receive this trophy in Laramie either Wednesday or Friday.

    The History

Think winning the CBI doesn't mean much? History says otherwise. Last year, the Nevada Wolfpack were CBI champions... this year, they won the Mountain West Conference. Other CBI recent champions include Oregon, VCU, and Pittsburgh. All who have since appeared in the NCAA Tournament.

    The Chanticleers

Wyoming's opponent is the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. And, after a quick Google search, we learned a Chanticleer is a mythical rooster... seriously, go look it up. CCU is located in Conway, South Carolina and they compete in the Big South Conference. They are 19-17 on the season so far.

    The Anniversary

Aside from the 2015 Mountain West Conference Tournament men's championship, it's been exactly 10 years since UW fans celebrated their last post-season tournament win. The Cowgirls claimed the WNIT championship on March 31, 2007. If the series goes three games, the third game would be played ten years to the day!
