Almost 4 Pounds Of Pot, Mushrooms Left In Hotel Room

Someone who checked out of a hotel room at the Hitching Post Hotel in Cheyenne apparently forgot to take almost 4 pounds of marijuana and 59 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms with them.

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Kevin Malatesta says police were called  to the hotel at 1600 W. Lincolnway on Sunday after hotel employees said they found the drugs in a room after the previous occupants of the room had checked out.

He says 3.79 pounds of marijuana were found, in addition to the over two ounces of psilocybin mushrooms.

The case is currently under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department Community Action Team, and Malatesta says so far no arrests have been made.

Malatesta says finding such a large quantity of drugs in a hotel room in Cheyenne is "pretty unusual."
