According to the manager of NASA’s Near Earth Object Program, an asteroid just larger than an aircraft carrier is passing between the Earth and moon this Tuesday.  He says he is 100% sure that the Earth and the moon are NOT in any danger.

He says his department has been monitoring the orbit of the asteroid and assures everyone there is no danger because they know its orbit very well.

The closest it will be to Earth will be around 4:28 pm Mountain Standard Time here in Cheyenne.

Asteroids pass by Earth quite a bit but not since 1976 has one been this big.

It will be 202,000 miles from the Earth and close to 150,000 miles from the moon.
