Rube Goldberg contraptions are all over the Internet from small machines made from simple household items to massive contraptions that took months to build. This artistic installment is one of the more unique designs inspired by the late cartoonist’s brilliant idea.
Artist Josh Van Praag used his digital arts skills and some video projectors to turn a custom built home in Panama City, Florida into a massive Rube Goldberg machine.
The newspaper might become less and less of a staple on our lawns or breakfast tables but even the youngest among us can recognize one of its most iconic and colorful stars (and we don’t mean Paul Krugman.) We’re talking about a certain lasagna-loving fat cat with a very heavy disdain for Mondays.
Most of America might look forward to Memorial Day because it gives us a three-day break from our hectic work lives and an excuse to grill great gobs of red meat over an open pit, but it’s intentions are much nobler.
Mitt Romney’s campaign might have a problem with inspiring a lot of enthusiasm, but one interesting idea from entrepreneur and noted hair trendsetter Donald Trump may pique a lot of interest in the Republican candidate: pick Donald Trump to be Romney’s running mate.
After years of dreaming, waiting, hoping and praying, commercial space travel is finally starting to become a reality — just when you thought an airline couldn’t put more of a distance between you and your luggage.
We would never trade our mothers for any other person in the world. That’s because we love them to death, owe them big time for all the love and attention they gave us as children, and would not have become the people we are today without their care and dedication. That’s also because the laws of time, space and physics don’t allow such a thing to be done.
Of course, if such a thing could be done, we would have a hard time choosing a mother to replace the one we’ve got. The bar would have to be set pretty high just to weed out the potential candidates. These awesome celeb moms would certainly pass that bar, but not by much.
It’s safe to say that Marvel’s ‘The Avengers‘ will explode the minds of every comic book geek who ever walked the planet when it hits theaters on May 4th. Not only is it going to rake in a ton of money, but it’s bound to make the receipts for ‘The Hunger Games’ and the last ‘Twilight’ movie look like the penny tray at a gas station.
Theaters are going to be packed to the brim with fanboys dressed as their favorite Marvel comic book characters and at least one or two very confused old people who thought they had purchased tickets to see ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.’ Here are some signs that you’re taking the movie a bit too seriously.
Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter may have eroded levels of privacy by giving people a place to post every facet of their lives and the people around them. However, it’s also given parents a way of doing some sneaky snooping into their children’s lives.
It never fails. You load Fido into the car, head off to your destination and the little guy has his nose pressed up against the glass as he whimpers for freedom until you crack the window. Then he sticks his big dopey head out of it for the entire trip.
The sinking of the infamous RMS Titanic in 1912 has gone down (no pun intended) as the most famous ocean liner disaster in history, thanks in part to popular culture’s take on the topic from the 1958 Roy Ward Baker film ‘A Night to Remember’ to James Cameron’s legendary blockbuster ‘Titanic.’ And yet the legend surrounding this infamous boat (and the 1,500-plus people it took down with it) has surpassed some of the actual events that transpired in the icy North Atlantic Ocean.
