They day after Thanksgiving, also known as Black Friday, has been marked as the "busiest shopping day of the year." New data shows that that is not true, exactly.

According to new data put out by Google Maps, with the help of Venturebeat, the busiest times to shop on Black Friday are not what we may have thought them to be.

Believe it or not, peak shopping times on Black Friday are not in the morning. So for those of you who like to pitch the tent the night before, can keep the camping gear in the box.

Actually, the busiest shopping times to date are between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thanksgiving night! On Black Friday, the busiest times were noted to be between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

So, what is the absolute busiest day of the whole year? It's not Thanksgiving, nor is it even Black Friday. According to the date provided by Google Maps, it is the Saturday before Christmas.

Having said that, you'll probably still get the best sales deals on Black Friday.
