Capital Expenses For Capitol Renovations And Upkeep
In 1886, the four-year construction phase began on the Wyoming State Capitol building. It houses the Wyoming State Legislature and the office of the Governor of Wyoming. After more than 120 years, things get worn and maintenance needs to be done on plumbing, electrical, office upgrades and some exterior work.
Preserving this national historical landmark comes at a price--about $250,000,000. The bulk of the work will be after the 2015 legislative session, when they will vacate the building to work on the offices and committee rooms.
