Have you taken down your Christmas decorations yet?
If you have a Christmas tree to dispose of, the Cheyenne Boy Scouts annual tree pick up is Saturday, January 5.
Trees to be picked up should be placed on the front curb by 6:30 a.m. and must be free of tinsel, wire, nails, ornaments, plastic bags and other non-natural materials. In case of windy weather, trees should be secured to a mailbox or other fixture with twine that can be easily cut.
It's hard to believe the holidays have come and gone in a matter of weeks, which means all of a sudden our "binge eating" is going to be frowned upon. It also means it's time to think about taking down our festive decorations. This can be a bummer not only because it's like getting rid of all seasonal cheer, but we also haven't the slightest idea how to get rid of our Christmas trees. Luckily, we've discovered a step-by-step instructional guide that walks us through this process in a painless manner.
Now you and I both know that "It's a Wonderful Life" is a Holiday classic movie that is perfectly acceptable for all ages. But I'll bet you never looked at it this way!
Meet Keilyn the winner of the 2012 Cheyenne Christmas Kid Photo Contest.
Do you need a little something to spark your Christmas spirit?
Tune into 'Your Sunday Brunch' Christmas special between 7 and 10 a.m. on December 23.
We're playing Christmas classics, some original holiday songs, celebrating a couple rock birthdays and breaking out a rare traditional cut here and there.
Listen to hear if we put on your favorite festive tune.
Have you seen the '1,000 faces of Santa' display in Lions Park yet?
The free exhibit at the Paul Smith Children's Village, part of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, runs through 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve, December 24.
'One-thousand Faces of Santa' is a large, rare and unique collection of Santa Clauses from the 20th Century. It is a part of the Thom Wise Collection and has been featured on HGTV.
Everyone knows Christmas Day is all about tearing open presents, spending time with loved ones, gorging on lots of good food and celebrating the holiday spirit in general. Even though most of us have got the holiday thing down by now, some folks out there might not be aware of some of the unusual and history-making events marking Christmas Day and Christmas Eve in the past.
Christmas is almost upon us, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t have some fun with your holiday decorations. Maybe you’re the kind of person who waits until the last minute to set up your tree, or perhaps you’ve noticed some bare spots on the limbs just crying out for a few more ornaments. Or maybe you need a last minute activity to keep the kids busy while they wait for the impending arrival of Santa Claus. Nothing is more maddening for a child than the last few days leading up to Christmas, before all of their holiday loot arrives.
Christmas is going to be extra bright for some children and their families, and it's all thanks to our local law enforcement and firefighters...and YOU!!
What are you doing from 7 until 10 on Sunday morning?
We have some music worth waking up for on 'Your Sunday Brunch.'
Last week's historic gathering at Madison Square Garden, to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Sandy, inspired me to play some of the songs and artists that were there.
There are also some rock birthdays to celebrate, new releases to tell you about, live music coming through our area to get you ready for and even a few holiday songs.
Did you get your tickets to 'The Nutcracker'?
Tickets for the traditional Christmas ballet have sold out according to the box office at the Cheyenne Civic Center.
