You can get an idea of what it's like climbing the world's highest peak by attending Mark Jenkins' talk at Laramie County Community College on Tuesday, January 29, at 7 p.m.
Jenkins, a Wyoming native, is an avid climber and writer-in-residence at the University of Wyoming. He climbed Mount Everest last spring as part of a North Face expedition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first American ascent of the mountain.

It's the 18th annual International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race that will stop in 8 Wyoming locations on the way to the finish line in Evanston on February 2.
Fashioned after the Tour de France bicycle race, the teams compete during the day and rest overnight in different cities along the route. Stops this year include Jackson Hole, West Yellowstone, Pinedale, Lander, Big Piney and Kemmerer.
