Only one Cheyenne high school football team qualified for the playoffs this year and after Friday night action, the match-ups are now set for the Wyoming State Championship.

Cheyenne East High School made the playoffs this year but had to face the number one ranked team in the state. Gillette downed the Thunderbirds 61-6 on Friday, November 6.

In the other Class 4A semi-final game, according to the WyoPreps Sports website, Sheridan beat Casper Natrona 35-10. So the Sheridan Broncs will now play the Gillette Camels for the state championship on Saturday, November 14, at 4 p.m.

The East T-Birds and Natrona Mustangs will play earlier that day in the consolation game to determine third place. All of the State High School Championship games will be played at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.
