Cheyenne is Still ‘Where The Deer and The Antelope Play’

'Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam, where the deer and the antelope play,' that's how the song,'Home On The Range,' goes and earlier today there was a Pronghorn antelope holding up traffic in east Cheyenne.

When my wife and kids were driving through the Pershing and Ridge Road intersection late this morning, May 27, a buck antelope was in the road quite confused by all the cars. Maybe it was the enticing aroma coming from the Taco John's luring it from it's natural habitat.

Luckily, drivers were alert and stopped for the animal which quickly made an exit through the DT's parking lot.

Although our city continues to grow, it's good to know that we still do live 'where the deer and the antelope play.'
