Three jurors heard testimony Monday evening related to a coroner’s inquest into the cause and manner of death in the case of 13 year old Alexander Frye.

Frye was first reported missing in the early morning hours of January 1. His body was found  January 3 in the Union Pacific Rail yard.

After Hearing testimony from his father, several classmates, investigators and experts from the Wyoming State Crime Lab, jurors deliberated for over two hours.

The jurors determined the cause of death was traumatic brain injury due to a gunshot wound to the head.

However they said the manner of death was “undetermined.” Laramie County Coroner Marty Luna says the decision means he can issue a death certificate listing the manner of death as “undetermined.” He says the decision will leave some flexibility should new information arise.
