A 32-year-old Cheyenne man could face up to ten years in prison after police say he fired a pistol into a sidewalk, injuring several people.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says officers were called to the Lamp Lounge around 11:45 p.m. Saturday night, after Christopher Bascus got into an argument outside of the bar and fired two rounds into the sidewalk.

"Fragments from the bullets struck several bystanders causing injury," said Malatesta.

"Because of the nature of the investigation, I can't really comment on the extent of the injuries," Malatesta added. "I can say that nobody was hospitalized though."

Malatesta says Bascus left the area with his wife, Martina, but officers were able to pull them over a short time later.

"They determined that Martina Bascus was driving under impairment," said Malatesta. "Both parties were arrested."

The case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
