This morning, I was looking up a story about the legendary Led Zeppelin and I stumbled across a doozy.  According to a web article titled "10 Little Known Facts About Led Zeppelin", a small town in Northwestern Wyoming once voted to change its name to Led Zeppelin, Wyoming.

This was news to me.  In fact, I had never even heard of Meeteetse, Wyoming before. So I did a little research.  Turns out, Meeteetse is a small town just south of Cody on Highway 20, near the Greybull River.  Its colorful past dates back to the 1890's and includes tales of mining, ranching, gambling, booze and floozies.

The once booming Wild West outpost now has a population of 327 and a handful of businesses.  According to several websites, at least some of those residents voted to officially change the town's name to Led Zeppelin, Wyoming, in 2007.  However, there is no official mention of the proposed name change on the town's official website or Wikipedia page.

I reached out to the Meeteetse Visitor's Center to ask them if indeed the town voted to change their name to Led Zeppelin, WY, and, if so, why?  I'm still waiting for a response. Rest assured, I will do my best to crack this unsolved mystery.
