Former Wyoming Cowboys Hill, Hollister, Roullier and Yarbrough Make NFL Rosters

Good news for Wyoming football fans. We’ll have four more former Pokes to cheer for on Sundays this year.

Running back Brian Hill, who was drafted in the fifth round by the Atlanta Falcons, made the final 53-man roster for the defending NFC Champions.

Three of Hill’s college teammates also survived the final round of cuts. Tight end Jacob Hollister made the New England Patriots after being undrafted out of college. Offensive lineman Chase Roullier, a sixth round draft pick, will play for the Washington Redskins.

Another Wyoming alum, defensive end Eddie Yarbrough, will also be playing his first NFL game this weekend. After being cut by the Denver Broncos in training camp last season, Yarbrough was a standout performer for the Buffalo Bills in training camp and made the team.

The news wasn’t as good for another former Poke. After an impressive preseason, wide receiver Tanner Gentry was among the final roster cuts for the Chicago Bears. However, after clearing waivers, Gentry was signed to the Bears practice squad.

Linebacker Lucas Wacha was also unsuccessful in his bid to make the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. Wacha’s fellow Wyoming alum Mark Nzeocha did make the Cowboys regular season roster.

The four new additions now bring the total number of former Wyoming players in the NFL up to seven with Jacksonville safety Tashaun Gipson, Chicago defensive lineman Mitch Unrein and Chicago safety Chris Prosinski, who will begin his 7th professional season on injured reserve.
