Casper Rep. Steve Harshman has filed a bill that calls for a Constitutional Amendment that would change the Superintendent of Public Instruction from an elected official to an appointed position. House Joint Resolution 11 will require a two-thirds majority in order to be introduced. The deadline for the introduction of bills is Friday 2/17.
House Bill 91, which would have significantly changed the state employee retirement system failed introduction in the House on a 30-30 vote Thursday.
