A report recently came out that the Cheyenne City Council may be passing a city ordinance to penalize those who would flush uncomely items down the toilet.  The Mayor of Cheyenne has repeatedly asked the citizens of Cheyenne to not flush wet wipes and other items down the toilet. Now they are considering passing a city ordinance that would penalize those who continue to flush inappropriate items down the toilet.

Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight at least 5 items that we should not be flushing down the toilet.

  1. Fat, Grease and Oils - Although they go down easy with the assistance of hot water, they will congeal and stop up the pipes and sewer systems.
  2. Garbage, Sand and Metals - This also goes for toys, plastics, cat liter and goldfish.
  3. Drugs, Pharmaceuticals or other Chemicals that would contaminate the water.
  4. Flammable and Explosive Liquids - This also includes automotive oils and fluids, gasoline, brake fluid and antifreeze.
  5. Medical Equipment - This includes medicine, needles, paper towels and baby wet wipes.

So what should go down the toilet? Experts tell us that the only things that should go into the toilet are bodily fluids and solids and toilet paper. That's it!
