Can you name the album said to have started the ‘grunge’ scene in Seattle?

This weekend will be the last ‘KING FM Sunday Brunch’ for January so we’ll be featuring an album side at the beginning of the 8 a.m. hour. Leading up to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions April 10, we’ll be featuring bands from the ‘Class of 2014.’ For January, we have the second album by Nirvana, ‘Nevermind, released in 1991. Tracks from side one are:

1. ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’

2. ‘In Bloom’

3. ‘Come As You Are’

4. ‘Breed’

5. ‘Lithium’

6. ‘Polly’

All songs were written by Kurt Cobain, the first track is credited to the entire group.

Members of Nirvana on ‘Nevermind’ include:

-Kurt Cobain on lead vocals, backing vocals and guitar (acoustic guitar on ‘Polly’)

-Krist Novoselic on bass (credited on the album as Chris Novoselic)

-Dave Grohl plays drums and sings backing vocals

-Chad Channing contributes cymbals on ‘Polly’

‘Nevermind’ hit number 1 on the Billboard album charts in January of 1992.

Tune in to hear half of Nirvana’s second album at the start of the 8 o’clock hour of the ‘KING FM Sunday Brunch’ this weekend.
