King Listener Carley Teaches Her Kids About Giving

Our 11th annual Stuff the Truck with Toys for Tots broadcast kicked off this morning on Del Range, between #1 Properties and Perkins.  And we learned a great lesson about giving from a KING listener named Carley.

Carley stopped by to drop off some toys for needy children, but she's not done.  She wants her own kids to get involved.  So today, after school, she's taking them to the store and instructing each of her children to pick out two toys for a needy family.

For Carley, it's about more than just teaching her kids about charity and community.  Like many of us, she has been down on her luck in the past.  Years ago, when she pregnant with her youngest child, times were tough and The Salvation Army helped her out.  She's been a volunteer and a bell ringer ever since. And now, her kids are getting in on the act.

We could all learn from Carley.  Having your kids each pick out a toy to donate does more than help needy families here in Cheyenne, it helps them too.  Thanks, Carley.
