Slash’s New Supergroup Makes U.S. Debut

Kings of Chaos – a new supergroup comprised of Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, Glenn Hughes, Corey Taylor and Steve Stevens — played its first-ever concert on U.S. soil on Nov. 18 at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles.

Blabbermouth is reporting that the concert, titled Tokyo Celebrates the Dolphin, was a benefit for Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project, an organization that, according to its website, “aims to stop dolphin slaughter and exploitation around the world.” The two-hour show featured each of the members playing hits from their respective bands. You can watch a video of ‘Mr. Brownstone,’ featuring Taylor on vocals, above.

Kings of Chaos grew out of the Rock ‘N’ Roll Allstars, a similarly constructed group that also included Gene Simmons and Joe Elliott. A 10-city tour of Central and South America in spring 2012 was canceled after a few shows, reportedly due to issues with the promoters.

Back in September, Hughes said that the Kings would “tour pockets of the world — the exotics, if you will, and the tropics and even America … The lineups with the Kings of Chaos, vocally, will change. The core band will be the same. So, it’s gonna be always moving and changing.”

They have two more shows scheduled this month, in Asuncion, Paraguay, and Mexico City. The band is also planning a tour of Japan in the near future.
