Cheyenne Police Chief Brian Kozak says his officers spend a lot of time dealing with speeding motorists.

He says speeding is the issue he hears most about from the public in meetings held around the community and in general conversations with residents .The Chief is reminding people they can report speeding, as well as other crimes, at the department website.

Kozak says when the agency gets a complaint about speeding in a neighborhood, they will often start the investigation by setting up secret, hidden speed detectors to find out how bad the problem really is.

Kozak says in many cases the equipment will reveal there aren't large numbers of speeding motorists. In fact, quite often there is only one person who is regularly violating the speed limits.

Kozak says police will then saturate the area with traffic patrols. But he admits that often it is difficult to catch the one person who consistently  breaks the speed limit.

Kozak says police keep an especially close eye out for those who speed in school zones because of the danger it poses to children.
