Little Free Libraries in Cheyenne
At first glance, you may not know what it is until you get close. Housed in the type of mini fridge found in many college dorm rooms is something called a 'Little Free Library.' The international 'Little Free Library' movement works to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide. Students from Laramie County Community College's Human Services Case Management class took on the project of bringing the movement to Cheyenne. Last month the first 'Little Free Library' was installed near the blue arches on the north side of campus. The students hope to have at least 17 such libraries across the city in high-traffic public locations. Anyone in the community is welcome to borrow books from these libraries, and to donate as well.
