Motley Crue played an abbreviated set Sunday night (March 10) in Sydney, Australia, after singer Vince Neil could no longer continue and had to be rushed to a local hospital. Guitarist Mick Mars took to Twitter a little after the fact to reveal that the singer was suffering from kidney stones and that the pain got the better of him.

In a tweet about the situation, bassist Nikki Sixx stated, “Sorry Sydney for a short set tonight but Vince had to be rushed to the hospital for internal pain. Will update you on his progress.”

Mars would follow with a little bit more info, explaining, “Sydney, my apologies for a short set this evening. Vince had an attack of kidney stones. He went straight from the stage to the hospital.”

The band got in nine tracks during the set, though the final two were actually the Tommy Lee drum solo and Mars’ guitar solo without Neil having to be present. According to Setlist.fm, the band worked their way through ‘Saints of Los Angeles,’ ‘Wild Side,’ ‘Shout at the Devil,’ ‘Same Ol’ Situation,’ ‘Sex,’ ‘Home Sweet Home,’ and ‘Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)’ before Neil had to leave.

Sixx took to the microphone after Mars’ guitar solo to reveal that Neil had been in pain throughout the show and had been taken to the hospital. Motley Crue have been touring Australia with Kiss, continuing the successful run the two bands enjoyed together last year.

Loudwire wishes Neil a speedy recovery, as kidney stones can be extremely painful.

Update: Vince Neil had to undergo surgery at the hospital. Read the latest on his condition here.
