As a Stock Holder in Nintendo, I Just Received a Cash Dividend for Eleven Cents

Let me start by saying I know nothing about stocks and bonds and share holdings and all of that. For my birthday this past April my family bought me stock in Nintendo. It came in this giant, framed, gaudy thing that's better compared to those checks they hand you in the Price is Right.

No matter how it's showcased, it turns out to be legit and I even got paid on it!

11 whole cents.

Maybe years and years from now I can scrimp and save and I'll eventually have a dollar.

Still, again, knowing nothing about how this stuff works, I thought it was pretty cool to receive a check from Nintendo. After all of the money I've dumped into Nintendo products for the past 36 years, it's high time I got a little something in return.
