What a weekend for St. Louis in sports, the Cardinals are the champions of Major League Baseball and the Rams upset the Saints.

Did you get to watch either game?

Both contests were filled with surprises. On Thursday night, October 27, the St Louis Cardinals looked like they were going to lose the World Series to the Texas Rangers, who led the best of seven series 3-2, but they held on in the bottom of the ninth and then again in the bottom of the tenth inning and pulled out a 10-9 victory in 11 innings. Friday night, the Cardinals claimed their 11th World Series in Game 7.

St Louis also won in the TV ratings as Friday night's Game 7 was the most-watched World Series game since 2004 with 25.4 million viewers, the best ratings in FOX Television's history.

Cardinal manager Tony La Russa, who announced his retirement on Monday, was part of the crowd on Sunday along with several of the Cardinal's players watching the St Louis Rams host New Orleans.

When Ram's defensive end Chris Long sacked Saint's quarterback Drew Brees, he celebrated by taking a baseball swing with an imaginary bat and watched his imaginary baseball clear the outfield wall.

The Rams got their first win of the season, upsetting the Saints 31-21.

Steven Jackson ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns and A.J. Freeley, in his second start for injured quarterback Sam Bradford, threw for 179 yards and a touchdown to the Ram's newly acquired wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, formerly of the Denver Broncos.
