State Farm Insurance on Friday donated $15,000 to the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Injury Prevention Program.

The latest grant from the insurance company, together with another $15,000 State Farm donated in January, are being used to purchase  a pair of driving simulators to teach young people about the dangers of impaired and distracted driving.

The technology will be put to use at Cheyenne East High School this week in conjunction with Teen Driving Safety Week, which is October 19-25.

CRMC Injury Prevention Coordinator Stephanie Heitsch says the simulators will be deployed at schools around Wyoming to make sure students learn about the dangers of impaired and distracted driving.
