Sources confirm that Steven Adler, the former Guns N’ Roses member and current drummer of “Adler,” has been admitted to a rehab facility after a sobriety slip that will force a postponement of the band’s planned summer tour, which included a June 24 date in Cheyenne at the Outlaw Saloon, and a June 25 date in Casper at the Attic. An official statement is expected to be forthcoming from the band, at this point no official details have been released on his condition. Those close to the situation suggest that, compared to past incidents, this is a minor relapse for Adler and is likely alcohol-related.

Adler’s struggles with substance abuse have been well-chronicled, dating back to his heroin addiction during the late 80’s which prompted his exit from Guns N’ Roses, a stroke in 1996 after a potent cocktail of cocaine and heroin, and subsequent appearances on two seasons of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew and the resulting spin-off, Sober House.

It’s expected that the band will be doing make-good dates in the next few months once Adler has been released from his counselor’s care. The Wyoming performances may be rescheduled as early as September of this year. Any previously purchased tickets for the Cheyenne or Casper dates can be refunded at point of purchase. We’ll pass along any news on Steven’s condition or rescheduled shows as updates become available.
